June is Dairy Month and Shawn Horseman, Supervisor Chef at Via Christi Hospital on Harry in Wichita has created a fun recipe for a mango smoothie.
It’s a great way to beat the heat on hot summer days.
Easy Breezy Mango Smoothie
Yield: 1 serving (about 10 oz. volume)
Ingredients:
- 1 cup chopped mango (or papaya)
- 1 cup chopped pineapple
- 1 cup sliced frozen banana
- ½ cup pineapple juice
- ½ cup low fat milk
Instructions:
Combine all ingredients into a blender and puree till nice and smooth.
You can substitute water for the milk to reduce calories and fat or add yogurt like Activia for added colon health (or do both).
