As a parent of three young children, it shouldn’t be a surprise that I feel like my family lives in the pediatrician’s office. As a matter of fact, my wife and I have each taken our youngest to see the doctor in the last two weeks. On these visits she happened to be ill. We also take our kids to the doctor when they aren’t sick. These visits are called well-child checkups.
To help illustrate what these special visits are and why they’re important, I worked with our pediatrician, Philip Newlin, MD, to create a video documenting one of my daughter’s well-child visits. In the video, he talks about what a doctor looks for during one of these checkups as well as how often your child should be seen by their physician.
